Next up is the New City Press’ Study Edition. ![]() While I do consider this as a good guide to the work, it does have a surprisingly large price tag attached for a companion piece. The biggest qualm I have with this one is, it’s only a companion piece, the original text isn’t included. So it may be a good choice for those who ask “so what” when they see City of God. It does a great job at a scholarly approach to the subject from all different angles. For those of us with little prior experience in this sort of work there is Oxford’s Reader’s Guide edition. ![]() What you’re looking for may have quite a bit of weight for which copy of this work you want to grab. Also, discussion on Christianity in relation to ancient Rome. ![]() Included in this book is Augustine’s thoughts on faith, especially that of evil, omniscience, and other key questions people have had of their religion. ![]() Written by Saint Augustine of Hippo, City of God is a book discussing faith and history.įor those interested in the words of saints, historians, or people of faith, this is an appealing text. ![]()
